Survey via Link
If you plan to distribute the survey yourself, this method is the right choice. Using a public survey link allows you to share the survey through any communication channel.
Once the content is created, tested, activated, and the survey is launched in the Survey Editor in the YourCX panel, go to the Installation section in the left-hand menu and copy the External survey link.
On the YourCX platform, survey links can include additional parameters that pass information about the user, order, or session context (without explicitly asking for it in the survey). This makes it easy to associate completed responses with specific events or customer segments.
Why Use Parameters?
User or order identification – Link parameters allow you to connect responses to specific users or transactions.
Personalized survey content – Display questions or messages tailored to a user's context.
Result segmentation – Analyze results by sales channel, customer type, or any custom attribute.
Simplified data analysis – Parameters are automatically included in YourCX reports for easier filtering and cross-referencing.
How to Add Parameters to a Survey Link?
Basic survey link:
https://surveys.yourcx.io/s/1900be18bd0b818b7ac076316974e5f2423
Adding the first parameter:
You should add to the link:
/parameter name/parameter value/
Example:
https://surveys.yourcx.io/s/1900be18bd0b818b7ac076316974e5f2423/orderID/231425/
Adding additional parameters:
Continue using the pattern: /parameter name 1/parameter value 1/parameter name 2/parameter value 2/
Example:
https://surveys.yourcx.io/s/1900be18bd0b818b7ac076316974e5f2423/clientID/636352/orderID/231425/orderdate/20050412/
Parameters can also be passed in the form of a query string.
IMPORTANT!
If it’s crucial that a respondent can complete the survey only once, make sure the identifying parameter (e.g., user or transaction ID) is unique.
Before launching the final survey distribution, thoroughly test whether all parameters are loading correctly and are visible in the results.
Additionally, the YourCX system allows for automated survey invitations via email — you can find more information [here].
